Da Center began with one person's refusal to accept that a community should have nowhere to turn.

Da Center carries the name TreMari. It carries a memory, and it carries a promise: that grief would not be the end of the story, and that what was lost would build something for the people still here.

Too many families are told to be strong while being handed a phone number and sent somewhere else. Too many young people are asked what they want to become without ever being given a room to become it in. That gap — between what people need and what they can actually reach — is where Da Center lives.

So we started where we are. Community days. Healing circles. Resource fairs. A table in a park, a microphone for a young poet, a list of numbers that actually get answered. A portable Da Center, until there is a permanent one.

The goal was never a building alone. The goal is a place where healing, opportunity, creativity, education, recreation and connection sit under one roof, and where someone walking in is met with support, guidance and love.

“This is for the ones we lost, and the ones we still get to hold.”
